On Friday, June 19, 2026 from 11:30 a.m., we invite all people who own a dachshund to a meeting with their dog on the green areas in front of and next to the Kunsthalle. A group photo with dachshund is planned behind the museum at around 12:30 pm. We would be delighted if dachshunds and their two-legged friends came in large numbers for the meeting. We ask that you keep your dogs on a short lead and bring a blanket or a mobile basket if required. On June 19, the first 50 dachshunds will receive a mini doggy donut from Schnauze! Store, the dog bakery in the Bremen quarter.

The reason for the dachshund get-together is the upcoming World Dachshund Day on Sunday, June 21, 2026, for which two- and four-legged friends can network and get to know each other in advance. On World Dachshund Day, the first 50 dachshunds to take a seat with their two-legged friends at the Canova restaurant on June 21 will also receive a free mini doggy donut from the Schnauze! dog bakery.

On the other hand, the Kunsthalle Bremen is in dachshund fever, as it will be showing "The Dachshund. An Icon Goes for a Walk", the first exhibition to focus on the dachshund in art.
