The links between contemporary dance and the visual arts are manifold. While dance has repeatedly been inspired by the formal language of the visual arts, there is also a shift towards performative formats that take place in museums and galleries. Against the backdrop of this development , the International DANCE Festival Munich and the Academy of Fine Arts Munich are creating a new kind of collaboration: students from the classes of Alexandra Pirici(performance) and Julian Rosefeldt(media art) have been invitedto develop concept ideas for performative works as part of an open call. The focus is on works that focus on human bodies and their mutual relationships. From the concepts submitted , a jury selected ten works that will be realized as part of the festival. The presentations will take place in the exhibition spaces of two art museums: In the Kunstbau of the Lenbachhaus and in the Haus der Kunst. Free admission to all performances in this series.
