"Dare to Care" - Ein Tanzstück von Tiago Manquinho, gespielt von act:on
In the organizer's words:
How can care be lived in a present characterized by crises, inequality and withdrawal? "Dare to Care" places this question at the center of a choreographic exploration that sees care not as a weakness, but as a resistant practice - against exclusion, isolation and standardizing ideas of closeness, autonomy and community.
The piece negotiates care as political action: Who is seen? Who is protected? Whose needs are considered legitimate and whose are not? Based on the perspectives of "disability justice", "Dare to Care" focuses on bodies that are marked as "dependent", "deviant" or "invisible" in our society. The production understands interdependence not as a flaw, but as a reality and as a potential for solidary relationships.
"Dare to Care" asks: How can we take responsibility for each other without falling into power relations? What does it mean to be there for each other, physically, emotionally, socially - beyond the pressure to perform and social norms?
The play invites us to understand care not as a private task, but as a collective, intersectionally conceived practice. An invitation to develop new forms of togetherness between bodies, biographies and social realities.
