Firlefanz is a really nice word. But otherwise it's actually pretty useless. The three Augsburgers from Das Format agree and have done the only right thing - left it out. The result is a simple, but by no means shallow mix of noise, post-punk and indie. Where Von Wegen Lisbeth add a pun, Das Format throw in a scratchy guitar (more fun anyway), where Die Nerven walk barefoot through the shards, the three jump headfirst into the mosh pit.

The first single Panorama Restaurant was released in March 2023 - a three-and-a-half-minute, upbeat, bounce-along track with a bass riff that gets your head bobbing from the very first second. By the time guitarist Bruno Tenschert's fantastically noisy distortion cloud breaks over the song, there's only one thing you want to do: move. And preferably with a beer or three in a dark, smoky club.

Behind the line-up is a whole network of prestigious previous projects. Singer and guitarist Bruno Tenschert was head of the project Der Herr Polaris on the renowned indie label Grand Hotel van Cleef, drummer Maximilian Wörle was part of Adulescens, bassist Maximilian Stephan, singer and songwriter with Carpet. The songs are all produced and recorded in-house at the band's home studio Albert Matong Atelier für Musik. The choice of the three-piece line-up is no coincidence: what was often experimental and elaborate with Der Herr Polaris is now more concentrated. Touring and writing is easier with light luggage. Das Format released their second single Deine Mutter on July 3, 2023 and the single Lichtmaschine on October 10. And the first album is also in the starting blocks.
