Das Leben des Herrn Louis

In the organizer's words:

In the anniversary production "The Life of Mr. Louis", the Blaumeier Atelier celebrates the art of masks and its own theater history.

The masked character Mr. Louis, freshly hatched from the clay, is thrown head over heels and without warning into a wild stage event. The naïve Louis falls and stumbles through his life in the theater, stumbling from one embarrassment to the next. This lovable and somewhat clumsy fellow is not alone: more than 60 masked characters from past Blaumeier productions accompany his journey and present their expressive design, fascinating diversity and lively body language. Stage design, scenes, music and the multi-faceted mask families from many productions - from "DANSE MASCABRE" to "DEM HIMMEL SO NAH", "CAMERA OBSCURA" and "MASKAPELLE" to "TANZSALON" are brought back to life in this way and are a tribute to the beauty of silent mask play.

All scenes take place in and behind three large picture frames, in which miniature rooms are transformed into a train, an orchestra hall, a retirement home, a bar and a dance hall. And Mr. Louis is always in the middle of it all...

Celebrate 40 years of mask theater history together with Mr. Louis, remember or fall in love anew with Blaumeier's fantastic picture theater.
