The Red Sofa is TMD's long-standing discussion format. Guests from Düsseldorf's art and culture scene take a seat on an actual red sofa, which had its first life as a stage sofa in the Schauspielhaus. There they chat with Sascha Förster, director of the theater museum, about their careers, biographical highlights and current projects.
Christoph Westermeier is a visual artist specializing in photography and has been the first chairman of the renowned artists' association Malkasten since May 2024; he is currently presenting his project Die Pappel im Wind at the TMD. Christoph Westermeier : Ernst Heimrath. On June 12, Westermeier will provide insights into his work on Poplar in the Wind and show examples of the video installation. Due to the good neighborhood, the Malkasten should not be neglected and so Förster will also ask Westermeier about his plans for the artists' association.
This edition of the Red Sofa takes place as part of düsseldorf photo+: Biennale for Visual and Sonic Media.
