Is there elegance in failure? Do rejected ideas also have a right to be loved? How attached is the writer (this one, anyway) to the fragment?

Saša Stanišić opens up the closed. Novels that have never been started, characters that have never seen the light of day. Overcomplicated phrases such as "having seen" or "opens the closed". The author of "Herkunft" and "Vor dem Fest" and "Hey, hey, hey, Taxi!" offers an insight into his coffined texts. He reads from additional material, unpublished chapters and brings wonderfully daring half-sentences to a close. Often he himself will not know why he ever wrote what he is reading.
