Das Zwölf-Räume-Haus in neuem Licht
In the organizer's words:
To mark the reopening of the central exhibition pavilion,the Zwölf-Räume-Haus, the building will be open to the public through the end of September as a walk-through sculpture by Erwin Heerich, presented in its purest form and without the permanent collection on display. During this time—primarily on weekends—visitors will also encounter numerous artistic interventions. The space itself, its clear layout, and a very special light provide the setting for site-specific contributions featuring dance, performance, and music. The program focuses on the fleeting yet intense experience of the moment and the spatial structures.
While some surprises remain, below is the gradually expanding list of projects and dates for an unusual summer atthe Zwölf-Räume-Haus:
July 5, 2:00 p.m.
Gustavo Gomes, Performance
In*Tintinnabulum*, Gomes, together with Davide Degano, explores contemporary constructions of masculinity through movement and sound. Performed as a duet, the work unfolds as a living sculpture within the unique setting of theZwölf-Räume-Hausand invites visitors into a space of contemplation and listening.
July 12, 1:00, 3:00, and 5:00 p.m.
Evamaria Schaller, Performance
The walk-in sculptureZwölf-Räume-Haussets the rhythm for the performance*usus*, which unfolds in three distinct yet interwoven parts. Each performance incorporates elements of the previous one and opens up a new space for interaction. Actions leave visible and invisible traces imprinted on the site.
July 25 and 26
Thomas Klein, Sound Installation and Performance
For two days, twelve sound cubes will be placed in all twelve rooms, creating an interrelated soundscape. On both days, performances will also take place hourly between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
August 8
Vocal Orchestra, vocal performance
September 5–27
Reinhard Doubrawa, performative installation
September 12, 12 p.m. and 5 p.m.
VOTUM, Performance
The duo, consisting of Barbara Schachtner (vocals) and Roger Hanschel (saxophone, composition), will present excerpts from their song cycles—featuring texts by Simone Weil, Antonin Artaud, and texts from Christian, Jewish, and Islamic mysticism, at various points along the walk-through sculpture.
