US-American post-hardcore band back in Germany this summer

Dayseeker are one of the most successful post-hardcore bands in the USA. Their pop-infused sound between atmospheric hardcore, R&B influences and modern alternative rock resonates with a worldwide fanbase. Carried by the unique vocals of Rory Rodriguez, Dayseeker have addressed emotional experiences and traumas from their own lives on their five albums to date. After the first three albums, the band completely found their sound on "Sleeptalk" and celebrated their biggest chart success to date at number 3 in the Heatseekers charts. The album, released in 2019, now has over 140 million Spotify streams, of which the title track has the largest share with 69 million streams alongside "Burial Plot". "Dark Sun" also built on this success in 2022 with the tracks "Neon Grave" and "Without Me" and now has over 122 million streams on Spotify. After a completely sold-out tour in late fall 2024, Dayseeker will return to Europe in June this year and play concerts in Dortmund, Dresden and Frankfurt am Main. Normandie from Sweden and Sperling from Germany will also perform as special guests at the open-air show in Dortmund's Junkyard.

Dayseeker were founded in 2012 in Orange County, California. In 2013, they released their debut album "What It Means to Be Defeated" via InVogue Records. The second longplayer "Origin" followed in 2015, which entered the US Heatseekers charts at number 20 and, like the debut, was still heavily influenced by metalcore. The band then signed to Spinefarm Records and released their third album "Dreaming Is Sinking /// Waking Is Rising" in 2017, which already hinted at the band's musical development. "Sleeptalk" (2019) followed in 2019 and enabled Dayseeker's international breakthrough with sophisticated R&B and pop influences. Following the equally successful album "Dark Sun" (2022), which further refined Dayseeker's atmospheric post-hardcore sound, "Replica" was released in April 2024 as the band's first acoustic album and a joint single with Rain City Drive ("Medicate Me"). With features from Lucas Woodland of Holding Absence on "Starving To Be Empty - Acoustic" and Beartooth frontman Caleb Shomo on "Burial Plot - Acoustic", the two "Sleeptalk" tracks sound completely new. At the beginning of March, Dayseeker announced that they had completed the recordings for their sixth studio album. The band once again worked with producer Dan Braunstein. It remains to be seen when the first single from the new record will be released.
