The British post-punk trio from Hackney was founded in 2018. Consisting of Wafah Dafour (vocals, guitar), Celeste Guinness (bass) and Mélia Beaudoin (drums), they released their single debut "Air" in 2019. The band fuses alt-pop melodies, driving post-punk bass and cold-wave synths to create a unique, minimalist sound. Their dark but seductive songs, sung in English and French, address topical and mostly controversial issues.
The band has toured extensively, last year supporting Queens of the Stone Age and happily joining contemporaries such as Yard Act, BODEGA and Nation of Language. She also performs on festival stages such as Latitude, Secret Garden Party, Truck Festival and now Queer Festival. In addition to the previously released 2 vinyl EPs "creeping speedwells" from 2021 and "diamond horsetail" from 2022, deep tan have now released a 7″ single with the London cult label Speedy Wunderground, produced by Dan Carey.
