Against forgetting

Every year, every month, we say 9 names and mean all victims of right-wing, racist and anti-Semitic violence. We commemorate all of them and mean all of them.
Their names remind us and call on us to consistently combat the racist normal state of affairs in everyday life, in authorities, politics, the media and in the security apparatuses. This state of affairs is the breeding ground on which the hatred of the perpetrators can flourish in the first place. Their names are a reminder that the fantasies of annihilation and plans for subversion of extreme right-wing networks end fatally.

Racist attacks, such as the one on February 19, 2020, are neither prevented nor solved due to the structural incompetence and unwillingness of the authorities. This is the interplay that leads to the murderous consequences of these attacks, which is why right-wing terrorist acts are never isolated acts.

No justice without consequences

Concern and lip service are not enough. It is time for complete clarification and concrete consequences. We demand that we listen carefully and show solidarity with those affected. There can be no more of the same for those responsible. Not for those who remain silent. Not for those who look the other way. Not for those who cover up. And not for those who protect the perpetrators and not the victims. Nothing is the same for us anymore. Pain and anger have become the norm.

Together against fear

Over the past four years, survivors and relatives have met again and again. We have come together to commemorate the victims of Hanau, Halle, Dessau, Cologne, Duisburg, Munich, Dortmund and many more. The most important thing now is that all those affected by right-wing violence come together, support each other and continue to fight together.

In Hanau and in many other cities, this is precisely why we are campaigning every day for a complete investigation into right-wing, anti-Semitic and racist murders and acts of violence. For justice and political consequences. For appropriate remembrance. And above all: for a society in which racism, anti-Muslim racism, antiziganism and anti-Semitism are not the norm, not for anyone. In which we do not wait for the next attack, but can live safely and together.

On February 17, 2024, we would like to gather with all of you in Hanau for a memorial demonstration. To mourn and remember together with many.
