A shift to the right and growing sympathy for fascist ideas can be observed today in all developed societies. What are the reasons?

Political philosophy can point to one reason: the social contract, through which political theory justifies the state, does not distinguish between self-determination and lawmaking. This evening’s discussion will focus on how this affects the practice and theory of politics.

The speaker, Ulrich Steinvorth, is professor emeritus of practical philosophy at the University of Hamburg.
