In the organizer's words:
For 200 years, Berlin's Museum Island has been a "free site for art and science", a place of freedom, participation and ultimately democracy. The motto of this year's UNESCO World Heritage Day is "Together for Peace and Understanding". What does this mean for art and culture? The Democracy Day will provide answers to this question as part of the big island festival on UNESCO World Heritage Day.
In the James-Simon-Galerie, we will create space for real discourse with controversial panels, eyewitness accounts and live show debates. You can join in and get involved at interactive stations.
