Jakob Springfeld describes in his books why the rise of the far right in Germany is a threat to us all. Attacks on refugees are on the rise, the AfD is planning massive deportations and far-right slogans are becoming the norm in many places. Although the far right is gaining more and more votes in elections across Germany, West Germany is mainly looking to the East. Jakob Springfeld's books are both a warning signal and a glimmer of hope. He calls on society to take a clear stand for democracy and human rights, whether in Munich, Pfaffenhofen or Zwickau.

At the event, Jakob Springfeld will read from his book "Der Westen hat keine Ahnung, was im Osten passiert. Why the rise of the right in Germany is a threat to us all".

The human rights activist Jakob Springfeld studies political science and sociology. He has received several awards for his commitment, including the Theodor Heuss Medal and the Hildegard Hamm-Brücher Prize. In 2025, he was named one of the 100 hopefuls by Der Spiegel.
