Deutsche Box-Poetry Slam-Meisterschaft

Munich's biggest poetry slam spectacle is already here at the start of the year: the now legendary German Boxing Poetry Slam Championship in its 10th edition.

In this special staging of a poetry contest, Germany's most successful performance poets step into a boxing ring to fight for the first major poetry slam title of the year in rousing "knockout duels", flanked by marching-in anthems and round girls and boys.

What will the completely independent and incorruptible jury rate best in the end? Critical and thoughtful texts, humorous or sarcastic rhymes, juicy punchlines or tender verses?
And who will be crowned German Box Poetry Slam Champion in the end?

Stepping into the ring: Defending champion Leah Weigand (Marburg), last year's finalist Yannik Ambrusits (Würzburg), the dethroned champion Florian Wintels (Osnabrück) and the new challengers: Paulina Behrendt (Hamburg), Simeon Buß (Bremen), Inke Sommerlang (Leipzig), Theresa Sperling (Nordhorn) and Anuraj Sri Rajarajendran (Landau).

Between the poetry rounds there will be exhibition fights from the Holzkirchen Boxing Club. DJ Waseem will provide the music and Ko Bylanzky will be the ring announcer.
