Deutsche Laichen ・ Pop-Kultur Festival 2026
In the organizer's words:
August 24–30, 2026 | silent green Kulturquartier, Festsaal Kreuzberg, Kulturbrauerei, Pierre Boulez Saal, and more
Live concerts, experimental music formats, talks, and more. You can look forward to international and local artists, world premieres, and music in all its forms—from large stages to intimate club shows.
First came the name, then the band. The Berlin-based group Deutsche Laichen is one of the most exciting punk bands currently making waves across the country. To mark the band’s tenth anniversary and roughly five years after their first album—simply and brilliantly titled *Demo Tape*—they released its follow-up this spring, *Punk ist scheiße, Punk ist geil*, produced by Moses Schneider. For them, punk is about attitude and scene—a reflection on cherished narratives, community, chosen families, projections, and identity(ies). And they do so with a consistently clear queer-feminist and political perspective, along with a collective approach to music and life: tender, angry, serious, emancipatory—and even humorous at the same time. An evening with Deutsche Laichen is intense, electrifying, and sends the audience home appropriately drenched in sweat—and with more questions than answers.
