A legend is murdered on the cruise ship Renate II in the middle of the Caribbean: Howie Bloemendaal, a notorious pop singer, has been beaten to death with a ceramic vase. Gradually, more and more bodies are found, and as a kind of warning, a Howie song sounds from the loudspeakers each time. Ship detective Mr. Kühl-Pwaro suspects some of the bizarre passengers. Crime writer Agatha Glitzi, who happens to be on board, comes up with her own theories. Somehow they are all suspects, because they were all connected to the first victim. Among them are the womanizer Gerardo Graf von Kümmerling, who focuses on rich ladies, the deft-fingered pickpocket Hilde Hopps, the slightly dowdy actress Lis Teller, the rich sausage manufacturer's widow Wilma Wuttke and chief stewardess Tina, who is carrying around more than just old baggage. Mr. Kühl-Pwaro asks many questions about bar manager Sascha's snappy comments and colourful cocktails. And only gets a few answers...
