In the organizer's words:
Following two successful open-air theater evenings in 2021 and 2025, Spagat will once again take the stage on the plaza in front of the theater this summer. In collaboration with the Zerboni Acting School and a group of independent dancers formed specifically for this event, Bauhausplatz will once again become a flowing body of water! We’ll celebrate the premiere on July 7, 2026, with additional performances on July 9 and 10—and everyone is warmly invited to join us. Set right in the midst of the everyday lives of the people in Domagkpark, this creates “hands-on theater”—sensual, inclusive, relevant, and poetic all at once. Once again this year, we are delighted to be collaborating with director Ulf Goerke, playwright Beatrix Rinke, and choreographer Marie Höhne.
The story picks up where “Die Verflossenen” (The Past Ones) from 2025 left off. The fish-people, human-fish, and shape-shifters have finally arrived. After moving from land to sea, they face the question of how to build a life based on solidarity. Carried by the current, in the flow of conversation, they begin to find paths toward a new community.
At night they swim with the rays; they’ve woven their baskets from seaweed. They encounter other sea creatures and grow closer to one another. But the first conflicts come to light. The fragile community begins to falter, and “Die Verflossenen” are in danger of becoming isolated once again.
Free admission. CULTURE FOR ALL. Reservations are not required.
In case of bad weather, the event will be rescheduled; alternatives are Sat, July 11, and Thu, July 16. Please check our website before heading out.
