Die Frage – Petra Bosch & Thomas Klein

The history of the Düsseldorf-based duo DIE FRAGE dates back 20 years to the electronic-folk project Fauna, which was characterized by a melancholic sound and lyrics that explored the pitfalls and abysses of the human condition. After a long hiatus, the two returned to the stage in 2023, presenting stripped-down versions of works ranging from Bach to Bauhaus. As DIE FRAGE, the duo has now reoriented itself and is exploring new directions with synthesizers and analog drum beats. Minimalist song structures blend with rougher sounds and Dadaist-inspired, absurd lyrics as a response to an increasingly complex world. The sound is at times pop- or rock-inspired, but also reminiscent of song-oriented club music.
