May 1st Mariannenplatz festival 2026

The first of May belongs in Kreuzberg, that's simply the law. At Mariannenplatz, directly in front of the fire department fountain, the Mariannenplatzfest will once again take place in 2026 and ring in the summer together with you. With live music, political talks, information stands and lots of good energy, the square will become a meeting place for everyone who wants to celebrate Labour Day as it should be: loud, colorful and communal.

Exciting political talks await you with, among others, Elif Eralp, top candidate of the Left Party Berlin for the 2026 parliamentary elections and direct candidate in Kreuzberg, and Kerstin Wolter, state chairwoman of the Left Party Berlin and direct candidate in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. Other Left Party candidates for the House of Representatives and BVV elections will also be on site to talk to you.

At numerous information stands, Die Linke, trade unions, anti-fracking groups and committed initiatives from the neighborhoods will provide information about their political work and invite you to exchange ideas. There will be children's theater and face painting for the little ones, there will be food and drink for everyone, and the program will take care of the atmosphere all by itself.

So grab a picnic blanket, round up your loved ones and spend a political May Day together, which is so much more than just a day off. ✊
