Die Möllner Briefe

In the organizer's words:

n Thursday, April 30, 2026, we will be showing the award-winning documentary "The Möllner Letters" by Martina Priessner. The film was shown at the Berlinale in 2025, where it won the Amnesty Film Prize and the Panorama Audience Award. The protagonist İbrahim Arslan will be present and will talk to us afterwards.

What is it about?
In November 1992, a racist arson attack in Mölln destroyed the lives of İbrahim Arslan and his family. He was seven years old at the time and survived - but lost his sister, his cousin and his grandmother. For decades, hundreds of letters of solidarity that the city received went unheeded. The film accompanies İbrahim as he discovers these letters and shows how he and his family are still living with the consequences today. At the same time, the great, often forgotten wave of solidarity from back then becomes visible.
