"Die neue deutsche Seltsamkeit " - Mit Charlotte Krafft und Marius Goldhorn

In the organizer's words:

Since May 14, we have been regularly presenting literary chaos at the Schleuse Zwei music bar in the Bilker Bunker. As part of the series "The New German Strangeness", we dedicate ourselves to texts that are no longer content with depicting reality and instead explore the limits of what can be told. Wild genre mix meets vision of the future. Alternative reality collides with digitally influenced narrative form. Classifications are overcome and make room for deliberate confusion. In the texts presented, oceans disappear, dating apps become investigative tools and young women with vandalism become stars on the internet. We jump into the year 2130 as well as into an unprecedented past. After the readings and talks, the bar will remain open and various DJs will present the appropriate music program.

The guests of the new German weirdness on 22.01.2026 are:

Charlotte Krafft mainly writes science fiction, weird fiction and screenplays. She was a founding member of the Rich Kids of Literature and studied at the Literature Institute in Leipzig, among other places. Her first novel "Marlow im Sand" was published by Korbinian Verlag in 2022. Her screenplay debut "Die Spökenkiekerin und das Fräulein" premiered in 2023. She lives in Berlin and Vienna.

Marius Goldhorn was born in Lahnstein in 1991 and is the author of the novel "Park" (Suhrkamp Verlag) and the poetry collection "Yin" (Korbinian Verlag). His stories and essays have been translated into several languages. His second novel "Die Prozesse" was published by Kiepenheuer & Witsch in 2025.
