Die reichste Frau der Welt

Marianne Farrère (Isabelle Huppert) is considered the richest woman in the world. But not only does she have a lot of ash in her bank account, she is also quite intelligent, a beautiful woman and full of power. Pierre-Alain Fantin (Laurent Lafitte), a Parisian dandy between typewriter and camera, meets her at a photo shoot - and remains in Mariane's life as a result. The unexpected encounter leads to a close friendship, which not only causes amazement and astonishment, but also a great deal of irritation - partly because Pierre-Alain is now being showered with money. So while the public puzzles over the bizarre relationship, the new closeness causes unrest in the couple's immediate circle: Marianne's daughter Frédérique (Marina Foïs) in particular is suspicious of the charismatic companion, whose relationship with money is as passionate as his appearance.
