Die Sammlung Haniel - Der eigene Weg

Under the title THE HANIEL COLLECTION - THE OWN WAY, the MKM Museum Küppersmühle für Moderne Kunst in Duisburg is presenting around 100 works from the collection of the renowned Duisburg-based family business to the public for the first time. The collection is of eminent art-historical importance and has been built up with great commitment since 1983.

We are delighted to present the Haniel Collection to the public for the first time as a further art-historical document of Art Informel and its environment. The artistic focus of the collection, which promotes a cross-generational collection focus, is also reflected in the collection of the MKM Museum Küppersmühle. The works in the Haniel Collection are therefore not only related to each other, but can also be viewed in a wider context with the works in the MKM collection.

The exhibition shows works of art that are closely linked to the history of the Federal Republic of Germany and the city of Duisburg. Both the origins of the MKM Museum Küppersmühle and the development of the Haniel Collection would not have been possible without private commitment. It is therefore very important to us to be able to honor this connection with an exhibition.
