With their upcoming album, Die Sauna turn to the light of the rising sun. And sets off for new shores: "There's a new beach where everyone likes to sunbathe," says the opener, which embraces you in a hypnotic rhythm. The monotonous, enraptured vocals still seem undercooled. But that changes quickly: the dark New Wave sound, which is reminiscent of bands such as DAF or Joy Division, breaks up and makes way for a noticeably warmer sound. With the chorus "I love you and you love me too", you almost feel like you're in pop heaven. It sounds devilishly like a champagne mood, but as always with Die Sauna, unambiguousness is only feigned.

As on the previous album "In die Nacht hinein", song structures continue to dissolve. What remains are atmospheric sketches that unfold their psychedelic effect even without lyrics. In the middle of the album, the interlude "am meer" picks up on the metaphor of the beginning and sets the monotony of the South Seas to music with a tipsy barrel organ sound. A little soundtrack for gently dozing off on the beach.

The "skit", which revolves around a guitar loop, proves to be a key piece. The Turkish chant also conceals the leading motifs that come to light in the band's third work: Love, worry, comfort. These feelings are not only allowed in the lyrics. Warm air is also exuded by a sound that takes on a special note in the last third of the album. Calm sets in with the trumpet. Until you are suddenly confronted with a sea of emotions and brought back down to earth.

The new work is a perfect travel companion for the twilight, when you look up at the sky full of thoughts and see the sun flashing between the clouds. An album that is both approachable and mysterious at the same time. And that holds on to you when everything else is in flux.
