die SCHREIB:MASCHINE – Neue Ideen für neue Musicals
In the organizer's words:
Musicals in raw format
SCHREIB:MASCHINE is Germany's only open stage for musical authors and composers from the musical sector. This is where experienced creatives meet new, up-and-coming voices from the scene - and present the first, still raw drafts of possible next hit productions. In the Silbersaal, they present completely new stage material for the first time.
Diversity of the musical scene
The stage is open to anyone who wants to dedicate themselves to the musical genre with professional standards and try out new material in front of an audience. In one evening, four to six very different works are presented - and thus the impressive diversity of the German-speaking musical scene. The presentations usually take the form of staged readings with piano accompaniment: concentrated, direct and close to the creative process.
Space for exchange
During the interval and after the show, the Silbersaal becomes a meeting place: a space for exchange, feedback, new encounters - and for the next joint ideas.
The Open Stage has been presented by the German Musical Academy since 2015. Since 2019, SCHREIB:MASCHINE has also been held regularly in other German-speaking cities, including Hamburg, Cologne, Vienna and Linz.
