Die Schule der magischen Tiere - voller Löcher!

In the organizer's words:

MAGICAL ADVENTURES FOR CHILDREN AGED 6 AND UP

Since 2013, Margit Auer has been writing about the many adventures that Ida and her classmates experience together with their magical animals at Winterstein School. 13 volumes have been published so far, and three of them have also been made into films. Following the great success of the first part, Die Schule der magischen Tiere - voller Löcher! is now coming to Munich in a production by Junges Theater Bonn for children aged six and over.

HOLES IN THE SCHOOLYARD

"On stage!" is the motto for the pupils in Miss Cornfield's class at Winterstein School, because they are planning a play, Robin Hood to be precise. Helene and Anna-Lena are both longing for the leading role and, much to his chagrin, Schoki is now getting daily acting lessons from his grandfather. Ida is looking forward to her best friend Miriam, who will be visiting for a few weeks and also wants to go to school with her, even more than the play. Before Ida's move, they were best friends and never kept any secrets from each other. Can she keep the secret about the magical animals from Miriam? Hardly... But what will Miss Cornfield think if she breaks the vow? But her teacher has other worries: who the heck is digging the countless holes in the school grounds at night? The whole school is at a loss. If this goes on, the auditorium will have to be closed, and then the theater performance won't be able to take place either...

ENSEMBLE OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS

Tristan Berger has now created a second, equally gripping and magical theater adventure from the books by Margit Auer and Nina Dulleck (illustrations). Nick Westbrock, who already staged the first play in 2021, will now also bring the second play The School of Magical Animals - Full of Holes! With a cast of children from the junior ensemble and the professional ensemble in the roles of the adult characters, the play will be performed for the first time in Munich in September.

MARGIT AUER

Margit Auer was born in 1967 and spent her childhood and youth in Waldkraiburg. As a child, she wanted to be a postwoman and deliver letters on a yellow bicycle - but then everything turned out quite differently. She became a journalist and wrote articles for various Bavarian newspapers. When her three sons were born, she read lots of children's books and decided to write some herself - although she still thinks it's great when someone distributes mail. In her bestselling series The School of Magical Animals, that's what Mr. Morrison does. Margit Auer has been awarded the Leipziger Lesekompass, the Leseknirps and the Heidelberger Leander. From November 2019 to 2023, Margit Auer was also active as a journalist again: As a weekly columnist, she wrote for the Süddeutsche Zeitung's family trio. There she answers parenting questions.

THE YOUNG THEATER BONN

With Die Schule der magischen Tiere - Voller Löcher! we are continuing our successful collaboration with the Junges Theater Bonn, with whom we have already staged plays such as Der Grüffelo, Für Hund und Katz ist auch noch Platz, Die unendliche Geschichte and many more. The JTB is one of the most successful children's and youth theaters in Germany. A special feature of the productions is that most of the roles played by children and young people are also played by actors and actresses of the appropriate age. They are carefully selected, professionally guided and continuously supervised and supported.
