DIE SEHNSUCHT AN DIE FENSTER TRAGEN (UA)

Longing is an insatiable desire that is both drive and pain. This desire is not known to the genii, guardian spirits of mankind. When one of the female spirits, Gini, strays to earth, she is astonished and alienated. With growing curiosity, she accompanies her protégés, follows their goings-on and listens to their longings. The texts and music of the matinee are as diverse as the people she meets: Knef and Kaléko, Bacharach and Dylan, Kästner and Kreisler, Piazzola, Chaplin and many others. They have captured longing with all its facets in words and melodies.

Adelheid Kleineidam has compiled these texts and songs into a program that is yearning and "hopelessly" optimistic. Pianist Seyyit El-Cherbiny accompanies her sensitively and with virtuosity. Mad and delighted, Gini is infected by longing and falls in love with life.

After several years of theater engagements in Bonn, Oberhausen, Wilhelmshaven and the Berlin Grips Theater, the Berlin actress Adelheid Kleineidam decided to work as a freelance film and television actress. Since then she has appeared in over 70 television films. In addition to filming, she collaborates with other Berlin artists and musicians, such as, in 1997 at the Prater Theater Spectacle of the Berlin Volksbühne in "Monsterdämmerung", the world premiere of Marius von Meyenburg, directed by Robert Koall.

Her passion for poetry and music bring forth various self-developed literary-musical programs, among others: "Leben ohne Zeitverlust", chansons of the twenties " Zur Heimat erkor ich mir die Liebe" on the occasion of the 90th birthday of Mascha Kaléko in the Literaturhaus Berlin "Ich suche deine Sterne und will nicht schlafen"- an evening about love with Adelheid Kleineidam and band for the Freilichtbühne Spandau, biographical readings about Mascha Kaléko, Astrid Lindgren, Alice Herz-Sommer,Lilli Palmer and Hildegard Knef.

For the Renaissance Theater, she performed in the Bruckner Foyer in the three-person play "Schlaflos in Berlin" from 2016-2019. Since 2018, she has been a regular cast member of the popular ARD television series "Die Drei von der Müllabfuhr" as Späti owner Gabi Hertz.

Berlin-born Seyyit El-Cherbiny studied composition and piano at the Izmir Conservatory. He performs as a solo pianist, plays in various bands and accompanied various artists such as Klaus Hoffmann in Berlin's Schiller Theater and Desirée Nosbusch in TV shows. For 15 years he was a style-defining pianist, composer and arranger at Berlin's "Wintergarten Varieté". At the Theater am Potsdamer Platz, Berlin he was engaged as conductor and pianist until the closing of the house. His enthusiasm belongs to jazz, swing and Spanish-Latin American music.

Adelheid Kleineidam and Seyyit El-Cherbiny share, among other things, a love of film music and their long-standing collaboration, which they now joyfully continue at the Renaissance Theater for the Bruckner Foyer.
