140 years of German colonial history: recognition, justice, development

The association Black German Arts and Culture e.V. (BGAC e.V.) invites you to the second episode of the live podcast "Die Studiobühne. The Live Podcast for Black Art and Culture". On the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the Berlin Congo Conference, association chairwoman Natasha A. Kelly discusses the far-reaching consequences of this historic event with Karima Benbrahim, head of the state-wide Information and Documentation Center for Antiracism Work in NRW (IDA-NRW).

The new podcast episode offers a space for reflection, dialog and inspiration and invites listeners to actively engage with German colonial history in Düsseldorf and NRW.

Episode #2 is the prelude to the one-day network meeting "140 Years of the Congo Conference", which is organized by BGAC e.V. and will take place on 13.12. from 10 am - 5 pm at the Studiobühne in the Hofgartenhaus Düsseldorf. The audio exhibition "Black Lives Triptych. A Tribute to Hilarius GIlges, Fasia Jansen and Joseph Ekwe Bilé" by Ina Wudtke can be experienced during the opening hours of the Theatermuseum.
