"The Dreamers" is a new play that was developed together with young people from an inclusive group (aged 13-20).
The texts and scenes are based on their own dreams and wishes - for a home, a future, friendship, peace, freedom and, of course, parties. They dream of being understood, needed and loved and of shaping their own lives.
The project involves a professional director, actresses, a dance teacher and a circus teacher. Their aim is to help the young people find their own form of expression, movement and voice.
Young people with and without disabilities - autism, Down's syndrome, ADHD or mental impairment - as well as young people with a history of migration are on stage. They are all united by the desire to express themselves and be heard.
Bodywork and objects play a central role: movement becomes language, the body tells what words often cannot. Talking to young people about dreams means taking their inner space seriously and giving them the right to their own future. For many, especially those with barriers, theater becomes a place of freedom and creativity.
In "The Dreamers", different worlds meet and share the same space, the same light, the same breath.
Because dreams connect us all.
