Everyone knows Sangiovese, Barbera and Nebbiolo, but in Italy there are more than three hundred indigenous grapes with different stories and characteristics that are not so famous and widespread.

In this course we will discover ancient and rare grape varieties on a journey that crosses the entire peninsula.

Diego Marchi

Born in Tuscany, a land of artistic and gastronomic excellence, Diego graduated as an art historian in Pisa. After moving to Berlin, he combined his work in the art scene with experience in gastronomy. His passion for food and wine led him to give up his job as a curator for good to become a sommelier. After a decade of experience in Berlin gastronomy, including in Michelin-starred restaurants, Diego starts working at Goldhahn and Sampson to share his passion for the vines and all their facets through courses and consulting.
