Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz in Bonn commemorates one of the greatest peace researchers. Inspired by her work, Theater Bonn invites you to immerse yourself in the story of Countess Martha Althaus: young, patriotic and enthusiastic about war - until the death of her husband on the battlefield transforms her into a convinced pacifist. Bertha von Suttner describes the relationship between war and peace, the legitimization of acts of war and the feminist emancipation of a woman in the 19th century between social attributions and self-image. Suttner's autobiographical novel is one of the great anti-war novels in world literature.
