Once a month, the Peterknecht bookshop and Weinmanufaktur Erfurt invite you to an intellectual and literary evening on the Petersberg. The Thuringian Vinarium is located in the historic gun emplacement on the Petersberg, which provides the perfect and atmospheric setting for these special readings.

In June 2026, Erfurt's long-time mayor Manfred Ruge and the author and journalist Heinz Stade will be guests at the Vinarium on the Petersberg. In an interview with the THÜRINGER ALLGEMEINE newspaper in June 1991, Manfred Ruge answered the question about his motto: "I keep turning the Erfurt wheel." More than three decades later - the occasion was Manfred Ruge's 80th birthday on October 7, 2025 - this richly illustrated book entitled "...das Erfurter Rad weiter gedreht" (...the Erfurt wheel continues to turn) is published with texts by and about Manfred Ruge, the long-serving mayor of Thuringia's state capital Erfurt.
