"About stupidity" - a conversation
Nobody wants to be called stupid - but that's no reason not to make it the subject of a conversation. In the spirit of Robert Musil's 1937 essay: "Anyone who dares to talk about stupidity today runs the risk of being harmed in many ways; it can be interpreted as presumption, it can even be interpreted as a disturbance of contemporary development." Nevertheless, from Musil's point of view, "a certain impetuousness of the question is gradually emerging: What actually is stupidity?"
Since 2023, the philosophical practitioner Dorothea Sophie Höck and the Kunsthaus Erfurt have been inviting interested parties to regular salon discussions in the gallery at the Kunsthaus Erfurt. The Philosophical Salon takes place once a month on a Wednesday evening. Interested and thoughtful people are invited. No previous knowledge of philosophy is required.
A contribution towards expenses of 5 euros or more is requested on site. The next Philosophical Salon will take place on August 26, 2026, at 7 p.m.
