A concert featuring guitarists Thorsten Thöpp and Micha Schillings:
The Ruhr region in the 1980s: The two young guitarists, Micha Schillings and Thorsten Thöpp, explore free improvisation, creative jazz, and electro-acoustic music together. They play numerous concerts in Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands before Schillings moves to West Berlin and later to Paris. The two lost touch. In 2021, they reunited in Bochum after more than 30 years. Since then, they’ve been virtually unstoppable, developing an almost telepathically dense, interwoven style that nevertheless sounds airy and fluid, revealing the influences of their two distinct musical journeys.
