Triptychon
In the organizer's words:
“Transformation, New Beginning, Eternity”—like a three-part altarpiece, each of the new
compositions by cellist Ludger Schmidt depicts a different aspect of the resurrection of
Jesus Christ. As Christians, we believe in this eschatological event; as humanists, we are committed to a development here on earth toward paradise. Through his
music, Schmidt asks whether these approaches are truly incompatible. His
program is framed by works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Antonio Vivaldi.
