dieBÜHNE: MIGRA – Migrantin der Identität

In the organizer's words:

A journey leads through two symbolic worlds: the familiar homeland and the unknown new. Feelings of loss, fear, joy and hope are woven into a universal narrative about migrant women and their identity.

How does migration shape the image of women, their self-perception and their relationships?

Three artists with a migrant background - Monica Sardi (singer), Roberta Ragonese (dancer and poet) and Eleanna Pitsikaki (kanun player and music composer) - create faces, bodies, voices and personalities of different female migrant identities on stage. With masterpieces newly arranged for Kanun, including works by Monteverdi, Brahms and tangos, as well as self-written poetry, autobiographical stories and expressive dance, a collage of invented characters is created.

These women move between cultures, expectations and dreams. Their experiences reveal the depth of female identity and invite us to reflect on belonging and change. They share their similarities and differences with us and at the same time reflect the complexity of the existence of female migrants.

It is a dialog of emotions, a bridge that connects us all.

Followed by a discussion with Dr. Corina Toledo from Frau-Kunst-Politik e. V.
(https://frau-kunst-politik.de/) and the artists from MIGRA.
