A small town in Schleswig-Holstein—an opportunity? No cool role models in sight, nothing is handed to you on a silver platter; you have to forge your own identity. Just like Rocko Schamoni, who decided in his youth to become a punk and make music. Misunderstood by teachers and parents, he hangs out with his crew, literally gets into fights with village idiots and Bundeswehr soldiers—and learns everything there is to know about life. It’s a memory of a youth many have experienced: cows, mopeds, beer, confirmation classes, school stress, heartbreak, and the deadly boredom of the flat countryside, the stillness at the end of the terrible seventies. But then came PUNK, and PUNK also came to a small town in Schleswig-Holstein.

“Dorfpunks” is a lively, visually striking, and fast-paced rebellion revue with live music that presents both an authentic and ironically reflective portrait of the escapades and boredom of young punks from the countryside.
