DORTMUNDER TRESEN FILM FESTIVAL

Summertime, chairs out, drinks cold, barbecue on. And then?

Off to the Dortmunder Tresen Film Festival!

For 1 week, from June 1 - 5, 2026, Dortmund's pubs and bars will once again be transformed into small cinemas.

New this year is the IBIS DORTMUND CITY, and our founding venue, the BALKE, is also back from its break.

10 locations in 5 days, so that nobody has to stay outside the door this year.

When your favorite pub turns into a cinema, a colorful mix of short films flickers across screens and monitors, and you pore over your ballot paper with your friends or newly acquainted neighbors, the Golden Beer Coaster award ceremony is just around the corner.

The €1,000 prize for the festival winner is an audience award, which is why the DTFF has probably the biggest jury in town: you.

Guaranteed to be independent and diverse, just like the festival itself. Every opinion counts and determines the result.

The closing evening, with the presentation of the festival award "GOLDENER BIERDECKEL 2026", is, as always, Friday evening in the beautiful DOMICIL.

The idea behind the festival has remained unchanged for 16 years: Watching short films in a pub, sitting at the bar, laughing and marveling, discussing, sometimes shaking your head and putting away a beer. Just like soccer.
