Sebastian Birkl alias DOT certainly has his roots in the hip-hop scene, although his musical excursions like to blur the boundaries of instrumental genres. He skillfully combines jazz chords, krautrock guitars and synthesizer pads with detailed compositions, crashing drums and gentle strings. And always with him: the search for something new. He is regarded as a busy producer and string-puller behind numerous projects of all kinds and has already released several albums on the Berlin label Anette Records, the various editions of which quickly sold out. After extensive tours through Europe in various groups, DOT has made a name for himself as a solo artist. Coming from sampling, he is now venturing into a new field via electronica and jazz.
