DOTA & das klitzekleine Orchester – unplugged

For the current tour, the Berlin band DOTA is opening a new chapter. The core line-up has been expanded to include a string trio, trombone and clarinet, creating a pocket-sized pop music chamber ensemble: the teeny-tiny orchestra.

While singer and lyricist Dota Kehr leads through the evening with her unmistakable voice, this special body of sound unfolds a huge range of sounds with the sophisticated arrangements by Jonas Hauer, adding further dimensions to the multi-layered poetry of the front woman.

Sometimes delicate, sometimes powerful and always finely tuned, this orchestra, which calls itself "tiny" and yet is the largest line-up DOTA has ever toured with.

Polyphonic vocals create dense, warm soundscapes, while unusual instrumental combinations and surprising arrangements make familiar songs appear in a different light time and again. Well-known pieces as well as rarely performed gems from DOTA's inexhaustible repertoire are reinterpreted by the Klitzekleinen Orchester in equal measure.

The band will also perform settings of Mascha Kaléko's poems, for which they were awarded the RUTH World Music Prize by the Rudolstadt Festival in 2026, some of which have never been performed live before.

The result is a concert experience that is both reduced and opulent at the same time - an invitation to listen attentively and immerse yourself. On this tour, DOTA & das klitzekleine Orchester impressively demonstrate how much power lies in the quiet.
