Can you seriously do a doctorate in pop music? Yes! And what do you do with it? Comedy and cabaret. Dr. Pop is a doctor of music. He is established on the radio, TV, on the net and on stage. In his live program "Hitverdächtig" he treats with music samples and curious but completely true music facts. Did you know that termites eat through wood twice as fast when they listen to heavy metal? Or that there is the Barry White effect in evolutionary theory? The deeper the male's voice, the greater the chances of mating. This applies to both humans and koala bears.

In "Hitverdächtig" you can hear music that can save a party, a relationship or the motivation to do sport or clean the house. Whether pop, rock, classical, pop, jazz, hip-hop or rap: Dr. Pop fires off familiar and unfamiliar samples from the history of music. And by the end of the show, everyone in the audience will know how to enrich their own lives a little more with music.

The program is constantly updated with current songs and new scientific studies, every evening is different - only the title and host remain the same. Hitverdächtig - The music comedy stand-up show for everyone who loves music or wants to start.

Dr. Pop studied media studies and pop music in the four pop music capitals of the world: Manchester, Liverpool, Paderborn and Detmold. He then completed his doctorate on the subjects of terrorism and orientalism in pop music at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Dr. Pop performs on stage, appears in various TV formats, produces videos and can be heard as a weekly columnist on radioeins from RBB with the column "Dr. Pop's recording studio". The section was nominated by the Grimme Institute jury for the German Radio Prize in the "Best Comedy" category. As a presenter and comedian, he has already performed in front of more than 17,000 people at the Waldbühne Berlin. His book "Dr. Pops musikalische Sprechstunde" (Heyne-Verlag) was translated into Korean and published in South Korea (Whale-Books.) He is on tour nationwide with his solo program "Hitverdächtig".
