As the son of the chief, Hiccup (Mason Thames) doesn't have it easy. While his father Haudrauf (Gerard Butler) is a real giant, Hiccup is rather small and slight. Instead of shining with punch, Hiccup has other qualities and is good at tactics and showing compassion. However, this is viewed with suspicion in the Berk community. There is a long tradition in the tribe: dragon slaying. This dangerous and popular hobby separates the wheat from the chaff. One night, when Hiccup brings the legendary nightshade down from the sky, he wants to make sure that the dragon is really dead. However, something miraculous happens during their first encounter: instead of meeting a beast, Hiccup and the dragon develop a special trust in each other. This is the starting signal for the great adventures of Hiccup and the dragon Toothless.
