Drawing Camp: Grundkurs Zeichnen
In the organizer's words:
Drawing Camp – Summer Edition: It’s hot, sunny, and beautiful outside! The fourth session of the popular and successful Drawing Camp is all about summer.
The Summer Edition covers exactly the same topics as the regular Drawing Camp—but we’ll be working on the go and using sketchbooks. Whenever we feel like it, we’ll move our sessions outside to the park.
Plus, all course materials will be available to you as recordings and in digital format directly on your smartphone after every live session. That way, you can participate in the camp even while traveling, keep practicing your drawing, and you’re guaranteed not to miss a single lesson!
Who is this course for?
This weekly drawing course is designed for beginners and anyone who wants to systematically brush up on their skills. We take a unique and holistic approach to developing your drawing skills, taking into account the interplay between body, mind, and soul.
This course is also ideal after work to relax your body and mind!
Why draw? I like to think of drawing as the framework or grammar of the visual arts. It is a precise method for deciphering what we see. Drawing challenges us to truly understand the logic of what we see. Drawing helps us develop a steady hand, a precise eye, and a logical understanding of shapes and shading.
We’ll start with a full-body warm-up exercise, followed by a concentration meditation in which we’ll practice guiding our hand as our mind directs us. Then we move on to the main part of the course: practicing the depiction of specific objects, living beings, and environments. In doing so, we will explore various techniques for drawing with pencil on paper (hatching, lines, smudging, and shading).
Everything we see can be drawn on paper using different approaches. I’ll teach you all the techniques so you can figure out which approach suits you best (grid; visual estimation and angles; measuring with your hand and pencil; “becoming” what you see; drawing as writing).
At the end, we’ll share our experiences (debriefing).
What to bring:
