The film was shot around Moritzburg Castle near Dresden, on the sets of the Babelsberg film studios and the Barrandov film studios in Prague, as well as at various locations in Czechoslovakia, for example at Svihov Castle and in the Bohemian Forest.
Winner of the "Golden Kingfisher" (Czech Republic).
"Best fairy tale film of the 20th century" in the Czech Republic.
"The Czechoslovak version of the well-known fairy tale: Cinderella doesn't put up with everything here, but takes up the fight against injustice - with cunning, wit and three magic nuts. The author of the literary model is as well-known in her homeland as the Brothers Grimm are here. A refreshingly cheeky and witty film, shot mainly in natural locations."
