1. Kammerkonzert
In the organizer's words:
In the shadow of its larger, more imposing sibling, the string quartet, the string trio has developed over the centuries into a distinct and multifaceted genre. Featuring string trio compositions spanning four centuries—from the Baroque era to the present—this chamber music program is like a journey through music history. While Johann Sebastian Bach still composed his three-part inventions for keyboard instruments, Beethoven confidently chose the designation “Grand Trio” for his String Trios, Op. 9. Around 1900, Ernst von Dohnányi’s Serenade, Op. 10, deliberately drew on the Viennese Classical tradition: behind its playful, dance-like character lies the highest level of compositional sophistication. In the 20th century, Mieczysław Weinberg and Jean Cras expanded the sonic landscape of the string trio with personal and folkloric influences. The program concludes with arrangements of songs and stage music by Necip Celal Andel and Astor Piazzolla—bridging the gap to popular music.
