We are excited to invite you to the next One-Day Choir in Dresden.

WHAT IS A ONE-DAY CHOIR?

A One-Day Choir offers the opportunity to be part of a choir for a single day—we celebrate singing and the unifying power of harmonies. It’s a chance to build community, make new friends, and unite our unique voices into a shared sound.

Everyone is welcome. No prior experience required. No concert. No need for perfection.

Just sing together in harmony with others in a room and create something greater!

Whether you’ve been singing in vocal ensembles for many years or are singing in a group for the first time—you’re welcome here. All levels of experience are valued and taken into account.

OUR SONG THIS TIME

We’ll be singing “Daylight In Your Eyes” by the No Angels —the band’s debut single from 2001, with which the five singers immediately stormed to the top of the German charts and created a true girl group classic.

The song speaks of the longing to be the light in a loved one’s eyes—and of allowing oneself to be vulnerable in the process. In a choir, this feeling of closeness takes on a power all its own when many voices come together to express it.

The One-Day Choir is led by Anne Großhäuser (she/her) and Felix Herrmann (he/his), who have prepared an arrangement that is both accessible and impactful. With no pressure to perform—just the pure joy of singing together—a musical experience emerges in a short time that brings people together and lingers long after.

REHEARSING THE SONG

Sheet music and vocal tracks for each part will be available before the event as study materials. If you have the time and interest, feel free to take a look and listen to the vocal tracks and the original song so we can work on the music together on the day of the event. It’s not at all necessary to know everything by heart (and you definitely don’t have to memorize the song!), but the more confident we are with our parts, the more fun we can have together!

LED AND GUIDED BY:

This session will be led by our choir directors Anne Großhäuser (she/her) and Felix Herrmann (he/his)!

Anne Großhäuser (she/her) is a singer and vocal teacher. She currently lives in Dresden, where she earned her master’s degree in jazz/rock/pop singing and pedagogy from the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in July 2025. As part of her studies, she also trained as a choir director. What she values most about choir work is the opportunity to blend different personalities and timbres into a harmonious overall sound, while keeping the focus on joy and music.

Since September 2025, she has been teaching jazz/rock/pop vocals at the Dresden University of Church Music, and prior to that, she worked for several years as a vocal coach in the Dresden area. As a freelance artist, she has been performing on stage throughout Germany for many years with a wide variety of ensembles, projects, and bands. For example, as a backup singer for “Mr. Rod – The No. 1 Rod Stewart Show,” with her Christmas concert series “Merry Little Christmas,” or in a duo with pianist Mikołaj Suchanek.

Her primary focus is on pop, soul, and funk styles with jazz influences. Nevertheless, she frequently ventures into genres such as rock and musical theater. She is very much looking forward to leading various one-day choir events this year and fostering a sense of musical community.

Felix Herrmann (he/his) is a singer, songwriter, and voice teacher. He earned his Bachelor of Music in jazz vocals and voice pedagogy from the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden in 2022 and has been teaching voice training and stylistics there as an adjunct professor since 2023.

He has been writing songs since the age of 14 and performs as a singer-songwriter and in various bands. He has also been a member of various choirs since his youth and eventually completed training as a choir director as part of his studies.

From 2016 to 2022, he was a bass-baritone in the a cappella band “Blended,” where he gained further experience in polyphonic singing and arranging. With Blended, he performed concerts throughout Germany and released an EP titled “Lights.” The vocal band was also a prize winner at the 2017 international competition Vokal.Total in Graz, Austria. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, he then focused more on his solo project “Kranich” and on his work as a vocal instructor.

For Felix, polyphonic singing in particular is a special experience of human connection—one you’ll never forget!

We want as many people as possible to have the chance to attend—seats are limited, and every person counts.

Important: Tickets cannot be canceled, refunded, or rescheduled. They are also non-transferable. We need the proceeds to rent the space and pay our wonderful facilitators.

If you’re unable to attend after all, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance —that way, we can pass your spot on to someone on the waitlist . Unfortunately, a refund isn’t possible even in this case.

The One-Day Choir Collective is a creative, Germany-wide community of singers. Our mission is to create connecting, playful, and accessible spaces for making music together—spaces for expression, growth, freedom, and letting go through music. Spaces where we explore the healing potential of collective music and improvisation. Spaces where people can express themselves freely—without judgment or expectations—and where we can meet others as our authentic selves and form new friendships.

Everyone is welcome in this community.

We celebrate people of all ages, backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, religions, physical abilities, social backgrounds, languages, and musical skill levels. All we ask of you is an open mind, a desire for connection—and a willingness to leave any form of (self-)judgment at the door.

We believe that making music—especially together with others—is a fundamental human practice. This project creates space for exactly that—especially at a time when such opportunities have become rare.

The One-Day Choir Collective aims to break down the barrier between audience and performers and create experiences in which we are all part of the musical process. We want to provide a network and a platform for people to rediscover themselves musically, connect with one another, and unleash their creativity through play and collaboration.
