(Duo) Shunsuke Oshio x Isamu Miki - LIVE
experimental, electronic music

Formerly active together in Kyoto in the improvisation band Ragout, the drummer and sculptor Isamu Miki and the electronic artist Shunsuke Oshio meet again on stage - this time in Europe. Specifically: on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Schleuse Zwei music bar!

Miki, influenced by psychedelic rock, free jazz and performance art, and Oshio, whose works range from ambient to experimentally synthesized guitar, let their different paths from Japan to Amsterdam and Düsseldorf meet in a common sound space.

When Miki's physical rhythms meet Oshio's electronic textures, a fleeting, constantly changing dialog is created - a live set in which improvisation and construction merge into a breathing soundscape.

Shunsuke Oshio
Born and raised in Osaka in 1982, he has lived and worked in Düsseldorf, Germany since 2009. He mainly performs solo, layering electric guitars on electronic devices, composing music for dance and theater, and creating sounds for installations.
By synthesizing the electric guitar, he creates his own soundscapes by altering the conventional electric guitar sound. This results in ambient, experimental and electronica works that are difficult to classify stylistically.
Shunsuke Oshio has released two solo albums since 2020. Last year, he began working on film music.

Isamu Miki
The drummer and sculptor was born in Kyoto, Japan, and currently lives in Amsterdam. He started playing drums in the 1990s and performed live as a member of psychedelic rock bands such as "Psychedelic Jumper" and "Zukoubijimoku". He has also been a member of instant composition bands such as "Sumire Kanjya", "MANDOG", "Ragno" and "Ragout".
Isamu Miki is a versatile drummer who continues to perform in a wide range of activities, including numerous free jazz sessions, collaborations with butoh dancers and small theater groups such as "Noso Performance", and performances with three-dimensional sculptures.
