In a conversation with director and curator Theresa Roessler, Nicholas Grafia willsharehis own impressions and thoughts on Steffani Jemison’s solo exhibition*Augur*.
Nicholas Grafia (born in 1990 in Angeles City, PH; lives and works in Düsseldorf, DE) completed a master’s program in fine arts under Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, DE, in 2019. Prior to that, Nicholas Grafia studied at the Münster Academy of Fine Arts, Germany; the School of Arts and Cultures in Newcastle, UK; and British, American, and Postcolonial Studies at the University of Münster, Germany. Nicholas Grafia’s paintings, videos, and performances—often created in collaboration with the Polish artist Mikołaj Sobczak—explore processes of political memory culture and the inclusion and exclusion of certain individuals from Western-dominated global historiography.
