EASY
Hit The North say goodbye to the Astrastube with two very special bands: Easy (from Sweden) and Red Letter Day (from Hamburg) are bands that lived through and shaped the great times of indie pop in the 1980s and 1990s and have easily kept their class until today. And give great concerts.
Easy released their first album (namely Magic Seed, on the then very hot English label Blast First) in 1990, and with Sun Years on the then equally hot Swedish label Snap Records they became one of the bands of Swedish indie pop. Songs like Never Seen A Star still sound as fresh and good as they did back then. Easy have released albums on and off over the years, but it wasn't until their penultimate LP Radical Innocence that they (and quite rightly) came to attention outside of Sweden again. Quite excellent guitar pop songs!
Red Letter Day from Hamburg (of course) have been part of Hamburg's music history since the late eighties as protagonists of the scene around the Marsh-Marigold label (founded and run by singer (and drummer) Oliver Goetzl). Until the mid-nineties they created two albums and various singles, all of which were and still are as indiepop as it gets. Classic. Now and then they play live, fortunately now again in the Astrastube.
